Eat right and exercise –- they’re probably the most common recommendations of any health professional. The basic assumption is that if you use up more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. While this is true, there is no hard and fast formula for weight loss. In other words, I can’t tell you exactly how many calories you should use in order to lose a certain amount of weight in a certain amount of time. If you ever see a magazine article or product that guarantees so many pounds lost in so many weeks, be wary.
